Featured Inn of the Week - The Inn at Cascade

The Inn at Cascade "A Southwestern Retreat in the Colorado Rockies" is a southwestern style bed and breakfast inn located in the scenic mountain community of Cascade, Colorado just west of Colorado Springs and Manitou Springs. Nestled in the pines with sweeping mountain views at the base of Pikes Peak, the inn is the perfect lodging accommodation for secluded romantic getaways, special occasions and Colorado vacations.

Originally built as a summer home in 1929 this romantic bed and breakfast inn was lovingly converted to a B&B in the summer of 2003 by innkeepers and owners Sheri & Tom Schwagart. Decorated in a mix of Native American and Spanish folk art with architectural elements such as adobe walls, kiva fireplaces, log beam vigas and hardwood floors, the inn conveys a warm Santa Fe style of hospitality.

Relax in one of three warm and inviting yet elegantly appointed guest suites each offering plush beds draped in handcrafted southwestern bedding and amenities including fireplaces illuminated by candles, private bathrooms, wine glasses, in-room coffee makers, hair dryers and CD players. Enjoy the breathtaking mountain views from your own private patio in the Moonlight Suite or soak your tired muscles in the jetted tub of the Ponderosa Pine Suite after hiking at nearby Mueller State Park.

You'll awake each morning to a memorable full gourmet breakfast featuring southwestern signature specialties such as Chile Relleno Pie with Chipotle Roasted Potatoes or Blue Corn Banana Pancakes drizzled with Prickly Pear Syrup and served with a side of Maple Spiced Sweet Potatoes. Traditional signature recipes include guest favorites such as Potato and Herb Egg Bake served with a Squash medley or Stuffed French Toast topped with Caramelized Apples and Caramel Sauce. We have created over 50 original recipes for our guests to enjoy. In season, we feature Colorado's finest produce, from peaches grown on Colorado's Western Slope to the sweetest cantaloupe grown in Rocky Ford. The end of August marks an annual trip for several bushels of freshly roasted green chiles, grown by local farmers east of Pueblo and are a featured ingredient in some of the inn’s signature southwestern dishes.

Visitors to the beautiful Pikes Peak region will enjoy a variety of outdoor activities during their Colorado vacation including Garden of the Gods, Pike National Forest, Mueller State Park and Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument. Outdoor enthusiasts will also enjoy whitewater rafting through the Royal Gorge on the Arkansas River in nearby Canon City, Colorado. An absolute must is a journey to the 14,110 foot summit of Pikes Peak, inspiration for “America the Beautiful”. Sit back and relax as you take in the spectacular scenery on the historic Pikes Peak Cog Railway or for the more daring, drive the breathtaking Pikes Peak Highway. While staying at the Inn at Cascade's unique Colorado bed and breakfast, a wonderful alternative to hotel lodging, you’ll also want to explore other nearby attractions; such as the U.S. Air Force Academy, U.S. Olympic Training Center, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, Seven Falls, Cave of the Winds and Manitou Cliff Dwellings. There is also plenty of shopping and dining in the quaint historic districts of nearby Manitou Springs and Old Colorado City.

Innkeepers Sheri and Tom Schwagart invite you to come and experience a unique southwestern style of hospitality in the beautiful South Central Colorado Rocky Mountains. Consider enhancing your stay with a Colorado Adventure Package or celebrate your Special Occasion at the inn with a Romantic Getaway Package.
